1993 1Ton 4WD Questions
A friend of mine is lookin into getting a new truck and selling his old one wich is a 1993 silverado 1ton 4wd with a 454
I dont know a whole lot about these years there kinda in between what i know of Does it have the 4L80E? What kinda transfer case does a truck like this have? Its got the towonda 454 Not the average he ordered it with this motor supposed to be better steel and steel crank and whatnot What kinda front end does it have im assuming the rear is a 14 bolt We Belive it to have around 4.11 gears it tachs up about 3400 in third at 70 Are these trucks very difficult/Expensive to lift up Say 6-8 inches and still have good pinion angle? Ive never had any experience lifting the front of these IFS trucks THe back should be as simple as blocks or springs or hangers but the front im not certain. Any info on the subject would be greatly apreciated |

Your front pinion angle doesnt matter because your diff does not move. When you lift a ifs chevy its all drop down brackets. I lift these trucks daily. The ease of install depends on which kit you buy. Pro comp and superlift are a major pain to install. The fabtech kits are fairly easy (depending on your mechanical ability and tools you have). 6 inch kit is roughly around $2000.00. Add on the price of install and alignment and your lookin at $2700.00. Then wheels and tires.......$1000.00 easy. So by the time your done your into the lift and tires for about $4000.00.

the tranny is a 4l80e, or at least it SHOULD be in a '93.
$4k for an IFS lift? Thank goodness for solid front axles.
