okay, long week. Here is an update on the 66 build. Found two Camel hump heads from a 66 so im very happy, cleaned them all up and all new valves and rebuilt them and surfaced them very happy with that find. The block was tanked jet washed and honed the cyl and deck the block new freeze plugs and happy with it.

Re: 66 C10 with a 283 and 2004R
I hope you realize that 461 heads will lower your compression by quite a bit over the stock 283 heads. Without knowing how much it was bored I cant comment on whether or not the valves will hit if you enlarged them to 2.02 on the intakes. You also didn't mention zero decking the block or milling the heads to gain back compression.

Re: 66 C10 with a 283 and 2004R
yes sir I took care of that, I did not mention that I deck the block and milled the heads, but I did include a couple pics of me doing it. I am at 9 to 1 and almost 300 hp now, was gonna just do a 327 block but went the extra mile to keep the original 283. Finished the crank, cam, pistons, rings and putting the heads on now, goin pretty good today, thanks for checking on me Big Dan, thats why im posting just incase i forget stuff so thanks for that sir.

Man you're moving along pretty good there for sure. Should be a healthy little mill!
Do I spy a GTX in the background or am I in need of glasses for my old peeps?

Yes sir 63 GenIII, thanks I have been busting my butt all week tring to get this 66 ready to cruise. And yes! 69 GTX, 440 sixpack, I rebuilt that motor also few years back. My Dad got the GTX about 20 years ago and I will always keep that Mopar, it is great American Muscle piece of history!
