TF frame mount Booster/Master, what is this bracket?
Please see the pics, there is an extra bracket I thought would go from the bottom outer booster/bracket bolt to the center pivot bolt, but it is about 2 inches too long. I can find instructions for this setup anywhere, I bought it off ebay (I know). I'm also trying to figure out what the small bracket in the first picture with 3 holes - is for.
The second picture is a close up of the bracket in question. It looks like the number on it reads MBMBPRCP5559

Re: TF frame mount Booster/Master, what is this bracket?
haven't seen one set up but looks like that is the pivot bracket for the pedal? maybe?that would keep the whole thing together as a unit so all the engineered geometry has to stay the same. some guys retro fit stuff and then it may not function as was intended and cause accidents and liability issues for the designer. all I can think of right now. did you try google images?

Re: TF frame mount Booster/Master, what is this bracket?
No idea, but you will probably find you will need a bracket from the inner booster mount (ones on driveline side) mounted diagonally to the front pivot bracket to keep the booster from flexing when the pedal is pushed. I made my own brackets out of 1/4" plate and thought the additional thickness would work but ended up adding a brace, the pedal has a lot of leverage.
Looking at it again is the large hole same diameter as the pivot shaft, maybe a stop, brake switch mount or return spring clip??

Great idea, found this image. Looks like it goes from the bottom outer booster bolt to the frame. It shows what the smaller 3 hole bracket does also. Thanks!

OrrieG, it looks like I might need to fab up an additional brace. I can see that pivot could use some additional bracing.

The brake lever goes on where the yellow arrow is, the pin slides into it, and the eye of the lever for the old brake rod bolt bolts to the red arrow

Thank you dwcsr. I don't know why these things don't come with any instructions.

There is a link to the instructions. That is for mounting the power boosted and MC under the cab close to the original MC location. You can buy a firewall bracket if you prefer to have it mounted under the hood. |
