Topside creeper
I'm getting a little tired of stabbing myself in the stomach every time I work under the hood of my truck, so I was thinking about getting a topside creeper. Seems they range anywhere from $150 to over $1000. I was considering a Traxion 3-100, which I found on ebay for $208. Does anyone have any experience with this model? I see there is also a Traxion 3-100 FFP which is a newer model, but I see no difference. That I found for $214 on Amazon, but out of stock, plus I pay sales tax on amazon
I was trying to post a link to the ebay one, but for some reason, I cant copy and paste the url from my tablet. The $208 with free shipping doesn't seem to bad

Re: Topside creeper
I just found the same topside creeper at acmetools.com which I have purchased from before. It's only $1.00 less (using 10% off code FEELTHELOVE) So $207 from a more reputable company

Re: Topside creeper
I kinda want one of these now. It would make some of my welding projects way easier.

Re: Topside creeper
Because I don't need it all that often, I bought on of the cheaper ones from Northern Tool.......I wouldn't be without one ever again....SO much easier to work over the top of the motor....!
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...0239_200360239 It was on sale for $199.00 when I got mine. |

Re: Topside creeper
There is a version that tilts. You climb up, lean forward on the pad, the whole section tilts over the engine or whatever, your legs remain mostly straight. To get up, you push off a handle bar and tilt vertical, climb down. Less strain on the Hammies.

Re: Topside creeper
I'm eventually gonna have to get one of these. Reaching into the engine compartment of a 4" lifted truck is getting to be a bit of a pain at age 45, even though I'm 6'2".
Thankfully, in the meantime, my '72 has got a massive front bumper that I can kneel on and lean over the core support.
