Gregski, was there some trick to get the rack and sector gear reassembled and aligned correctly?

You're absolutely right Gregski. Part of that logic is making sure that you are feeding the rack in from the right direction. Gotta remember that the lock cylinder angles forward, and that where the rod fits into the rack points back. In my defense, my whole column was apart so orientation was not so obvious
