Finally my 68 is finally home
Hi everyone. I bought a 68 Short step side while on vacation in Florida at Thanksgiving. I left it at a friends until I could get back there from Illinois to bring it home.
I went back for New Years to bring it home. Instead of bringing my trailer my buddy wanted to bring it back on a dolly our friend had. Long story short the dolly didn't work out. Again had to leave the truck in Florida. I broke down and had it transported. From Ormond beach, Fla to central Il. it was $675. I just got it home tonight. |

Re: Finally my 68 is finally home
My original intention was to do the body work. Door bottoms, cab corners and rocker panels. Do a disc brake conversion, and a 5.3/auto swap, replace suspension w lowering springs. Replace worn steering and upgrade to power steering and wheels. Among that, clean and detail each step. Take down to bare frame, sand blast, prime and paint.
My plans and budget have changed. I'm leaning towards just doing the body work and paint. Clean and paint everything else and replace only what is needed. |
