I want to install a center console from a 99 Denali/escalade along with buckets in my 97 Sierra in place of the 60/40 seats already in there. Any tips or issues with this? Particularly the console.

I cannot remember what year the Tahoe/Denali did the changeover, but I think you'll just be drilling some holes on the drive side for the inner seat holes, then the holes for your console. You should be able to find and hook up the seats into the stock wiring without too many issues.

The 99 Denali should have the same floorpan as your 98. You'll probably have to drill inner seat rail holes for both seats, the outers will be the same. If there are any brackets holding the console you may have to remove them and weld into your 98, if you determine they're really needed. After I determine my new hole location, I centerpunch it and cut a small "X" over it with a utility knife. Keeps the carpet from getting caught in the drill bit and unraveling a large section of carpet. Then drill the hole and cut off the inside corners of the carpet. I prefer to weld a square nut (more meat for welding) to the underside, but if you have a helper a nut and bolt works just as well. If you weld it remove the sill plate and use a 2X4 etc. to hold the carpet up.
