I went with this Lunati cam and lifter set, http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=2323&gid=287 in my 72 DD. Stock heads, Performer intake w/750cfm Quadrajet, and long tubes. Still running and towing strong after two years. It's a "torque" cam that makes power from 0 to 5500 rpm.
