58 gmc front fenders

I am restoring my grandfathers 58 gmc. Fenders have some rust and dents. Not sure if I will be able to salvage them. Will the Chevy repop fenders work with gmc trucks? I know they have some differences but not sure what they are. Anyone have experience with thudding them on a gmc?

Re: 58 gmc front fenders

on the 57 gmc front fenders that I have there is a divet on the area just above the chevy signal light hole. the divet is where the gmc mustache grille attaches. probably could create a divet if you had to. check that area on your gmc fenders. not sure if the 58 gmc has the same thing going on there.

on second thought, disregard the above. the 4 eyed trucks are different than the 2 eyed trucks. better to get info from a 4 eyed guy, haha.

Re: 58 gmc front fenders

I bought repops for my 59 GMC over 10 years ago. They worked fine.

Different emblem mounting holes.

Re: 58 gmc front fenders

Awesome news. Glad they work. Does any place sell them with no holes so I can just make them myself?

Re: 58 gmc front fenders

I can't remember if they even had emblem holes.....

I checked my pics and did not have any evidence there either.

A quick google....

http://www.classicindustries.com/pro...ts/t70656.html

Picture shows Chev emblem holes, but there is a note that states
Important: Emblem holes are not pre-drilled.

Re: 58 gmc front fenders

Sounds good thank you! I have seen before that in the description it says chevy/gmc but have been told they do differ. So just wanted to double check since I heard it from a Facebook group.
