Hard to find in Oregon too. Lots of 4 cyl and 2.8's. A 78-87 Chevy Malibu/ Montecarlo, Elcamino and the Pontiac/ Olds/ and Buick versions front suspension works real good if you don't mind adding it to the front of your frame. And they came with v8's so you don't need engine swap parts.

if he wants $700 for a long bed, I cant imagine what he would need for the frame!

my grandmother lived in rolla mo when I was a kid, I have tried to find her house on google maps and cant, there was a train track in the back yard!

I was thinkin most the guys that are parting the bodies wouldn't put to much value in frame once its stripped as long as you don't play it up to much...

Junk yards are usually cheaper if you check enough of them. But they are getting harder to find around...I searched awhile in several cities around him and only found that one

Re: Which one of you is buying up all the S10s in MO/AR?

my 49 frame came as a roller from a junkyard, $300. I bought it from the guy who bought it there and got the bill of sale. it has the tiny case 3.08 rear end in it.

I got the 91 longbed in partial trade for the 65 when I sold it, gave $1200 trade credit and it runs and drives, still has that 3.08 rear and there isnt much worth anything to sell from it, I need the bed floor and everything else is tinworm or abuse.

Re: Which one of you is buying up all the S10s in MO/AR?

They are next to impossible to find in CA also. Found a couple frame only rollers ranging from $700-900 took me 2 months but one popped up in San Diego for $300 it's a 89 2.8 frame but it was a single cab long bed, so I jumped on it didn't even try to haggle with the guy.

They pop up every now and then, what I learned is that they sat at junk yards for awhile so the yards ended up crushing them and selling them for scrap metal.
Check car-part.com also

Never thought S10's would be so hard to find for people. There's over 300 ads on my local CL for S10's alone, S15's around 200 ads for trucks/parts, Sonoma comes back with nearly 200 ads also lol There's an abundance of these things here for dirt cheap.

Re: Which one of you is buying up all the S10s in MO/AR?

I think that they probably sold 5 4x4 S-10s here for every two wheel drive long bed, especially in the later years.

Before scrap went up a few years ago you could get a two wheel drive with a busted engine for free with a title but now the "those guys do frame swaps" flippers have jacked the price up on them to the point it isn't worth it.

You Canunks have everything pond hockey, never ending supply of denim, actual seasons, maple syrup dispensers in your back yard, and now the last of the s10 frames. I'm packing up and moving north! haha sorry I had to

Re: Which one of you is buying up all the S10s in MO/AR?

Here is what I find locally I'd worry about frame damage on this one
https://yakima.craigslist.org/pts/5400085455.html

Too nice to cut up
https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/5461677499.html

Extended cab
https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/5460529101.html

The pickings are pretty slim and the drivers around here are too spendy to buy for a frame swap if a guy has any sense at all.

All we care about is hockey & hot rods lol

Luckily not many people here in BC do frame swaps so the S10's stay cheap. The guys who try & up sell an S10 chassis for $500-1000 by advertising it's a good swap chassis just hold on to them years.

Re: Which one of you is buying up all the S10s in MO/AR?

You are competing against the guys who now see the "vintage" s-10s as the trucks or their youth and want to slam, shave, etc. them. I have a neighbor that has a hoard of them because his kids had them 15 years ago in high school and he kept buying and putting them in his back yard. His plan is to start dragging them out and doing quick paint, lowering kit, etc. and selling them to his kids friends that couldn't have one as a kid.

I'm putting a Crown Vic front end under my 57 chevy. If the frame you have currently is around 34-35 inches you could probably fit one in easy. Go to youtube and put in Crown vic f100. Doesnt seem to be that hard. Good luck just an option!

That's a good option the track width is the same only down side is no drop spindles available I'm not sure about air suspension parts either.

This shop has been trying to sell this one for MONTHS...sheesh. At this price there is no reason not to do mustang II etc. I bought my whole running truck for $350, made a profit on parts and still had all this.
