Best radio for my 79
Finishing up my frame off of my 79 sport and I want an original looking radio. Any recommendations? I really like the look of the customs auto sound except the white plastic oldschool looking faceplate blocks the digital display
Thanks for your ideas

Re: Best radio for my 79
I would used a dummy radio or a radio delete and mount a din size somewhere out of sight.

Re: Best radio for my 79
This is what mine looks like. I got mine from LMC, but this is the same one: http://casmfg.com/Chevy%20Truck%201973-86%20USA-630.htm
And then I found some older truck chrome radio knobs to use in place of the cheap plastic ones. |

I found this place after I got my radio, but I like this radio because you can choose your knobs. And they don't have the lines over the digital display. |

Re: Best radio for my 79
The best GM radio is the ETR digital radio if you can find one otherwise you can find plenty of 2 knob cassette radios on ebay and the like. I will say any stereo you get plan on getting a amplifier to get the best sound out of your speakers. Then you can buy a cassette adapter and listen to your digital music through it. They also make Bluetooth adapters to hook into older stereos like isimple isfm2351

Here is the Zuma radio installed. This kit also gives you silicon covers (like for phone screens) with the radio dial on it too, like the picture above shows.
