Re: Dunce's 59 Fleetside build
Got a few more pix.
-swapped out the cam. I miss the big chopping idle of the TRex cam but the 228r has a nice mild lope to it and I have plenty of vacuum for the brakes now. Much more suited for street use now. -Adjusted the front ride height just a bit and upsized the tires from 255/40/17 to 255/45/17. Now the fronts and rears have the same diameter and the fronts fill out the wheel well better. -Battled the dreaded LS1 belt chirp issues for a couple weeks and finally kicked its butt. If anyone needs any info on that, hit me up. -finished wiring my AC/Heat unit just in time for fall weather. Now just need to charge and test AC before next summer. short idle vid. dropped the idle from 850 down to 750 or so but I think with some tweaking I can drop a bit more and hear more of the cam if I want to.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuRiSy5b0W4 |

Re: Dunce's 59 Fleetside build
Thanks guys! A little update...
-Finally got around to making the bumper brackets after deciding I wanted to install the bumber. Kinda like it both ways but for now, I'll run the bumper. -Made a cold air box for the air intake and a radiator closeout panel. Box pulls air from behind the grill and the wheel well. Closeout panel fills the gap between the radiator and the core support. I like the look mainly but I think it could also function to prevent hot air from recirculating through the radiator and perhaps improve the efficiency of the condensor. -Wife bought me a console (for her starbucks cup). I think I'll have the top of if recovered in the same material as the seat -Most recent proejct is adding 2.5 inches to the rear wheel tubs. I had about 3/8 of an inch clearance on the inside so going around corners or pulling out of the driveway at an angle made it rub pretty good. Plus now I can fit some pretty large tires if I want to later. I don't think I'll ever take it any lower. Not really into the super low stance.. more muscle truck if you know what I mean. |

Re: Dunce's 59 Fleetside build
Nice! Front bumper really finishes it off.
Where did you get the console for the bench seat from? Fits right in with the rest of the cab.
