Is it a 1958 or 1959 GMC?

I need to get the lost title process started on project truck #2. In researching the ID number it looks like "S" indicates its a 1958 or a 1959. I need to declare a year when I register it. Are there any subtle differences that will help me determine the year?

Do you not have a VIN plate on it? If you do what's the #? There's a few decoders to use.

Serial Number is 102PSXXXXXA. This is the number on top of the plate that shows GVW. I'm assuming this is the VIN. Maybe I'm way off here and this is only a number assigned to the truck by the factory. Unlike the 58 Chevy that we have, there is not a smaller plate with just a VIN number on it. I have not been able to find any number on the frame.

unless I missed it, you have to use the whole serial number and not just the first couple. my 47 gmc was an FC101 (I think, I sold it and dont have it handy haha) and that was the prefix from 47 to 51, it was the sequence serial number that mattered, after a certain number it was a 48, after another set a 49, etc.
