I need to get a steering column for my 1964 k10. It has a 350 turbo transmission in it. What years of used ones could I use, and is their any good repo steering columns for this application. Any info would be great.

There are a lot of threads here about inexpensive swaps from other GM donor vehicles. Stay away from eBay/chinese repops. If you want a new repop, Flaming River and ididit are worth the $$$ (500-800 approx)

I just installed a new Flaming River today, a great unit that will outlive me. There website can be a bit confusing, so use their "live chat" or email them.

I used a 68-70 column which has the steel framed gear indicator and used all the linkage from the 67-72 trucks. I Like the look of the indicator, still 60's look.

Did you have to make any modifications?

You can use a stock 2 speed column if one comes around. You can get a 3 speed indicator for it. I have a 2 speed column that I will be using on a 700R4 and will probably not be able to shift into low gear manually. The 3 speed shouldn't be a problem though.

So if I have a powerglide column is that what you are talking about when you say two speed?

the only modification I had to make was to the wiring and add a hazard circuit. Separating and connecting the wires. I think all the colors are the same just separate the plugs on truck side. I used a exhaust clamp to secure the column under the dash because the stock mount is different.
