Blazer/Bucket Seat Black Belts 70 and 72 w/Shoulder Belts

Here are three sets of Black Seat Belts. The first pair are dated 1970 and for Blazer or bucket seat truck. They need to be cleaned, but have no tears in the retractor plastic and chrome in good shape. $125 shipped. The second set are 1972 Black for Blazer or Bucket seat trucks. Thease are the cleanest original belts, I have ever seen. They are show quality and still has some plastic cover residue on the chrome clip portion.$200 shipped SOLD. The third are black shoulder belts that have been re-webbed in appears to be original material. They do not have date tags on them, so I assume you can add whatever tag you need (Not Available- see post from Leddzepp). First, I'll take it in the thread. Payment is Paypal (add 3% fee) or Money Order. Thanks, Dan

Re: Blazer/Bucket Seat Black Belts 70 and 72 w/Shoulder Belts

How is the chrome on the shoulder belts? Any tears in the plastic or cracks in the buckles? I'm looking for a really clean set. If they are really nice I will take them. Also, what else is needed to make them a full set other than the center belt set? Thanks

Re: Blazer/Bucket Seat Black Belts 70 and 72 w/Shoulder Belts

Your second pictured set (the cleaner one's) would not be correct for a blazer, the blazers used a short stubby retractor on RH/pass side to allow easier pass access into the back seat area, also the female side of the RH blazer belt setup had a thick plastic sheathing over the lower area of the webbing. Nice looking belts though, Mel.

The chrome is nice on the shoulder belts. No tears in the plastic and no cracks in the plastic buckles! What else is needed, is the center belt for bench seats and the RH and LH belts with retractors, to complete the set. Thanks, Dan

Thanks, so much for your input. I have not owned a Blazer or parted one out, so I assumed they were the same as our trucks! So, these would be for bucket seat truck. Thanks, Dan

The retainers on the shoulder belts are from a 68-70 Mustang or Cougar.

Thanks for the update on the application. I bought them from another board member some years ago. I'll do some research. Do you have some pics of the REAL DEAL! Thanks, Dan

I'm going to pass for now. Thanks ledzepp for the pics and description. They sure look nice. I just read also how they are locked all the time so it would seem they would restrict from leaning forward to change lanes.

There's probably a better place to discuss this... but here goes.

I've read every thread I can find regarding the correct shoulder belt boots including several from 2011 that you and 70LonghornCST made significant contributions to. The ones you show above are the most commonly acknowledged as correct. However, there is another boot that is similar, but it has the dimple in a horizontal orientation as shown in 70Longhorn's post #7 in this thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...shoulder+belts and the picture below of belts I found in a '71 or '72 Blazer that are dated sometime in the last 6 months of 1971. Unfortunately, the rear seat shoulder belts I found were cut off at the boots as shown in the center of my picture. Do you know if this boot with the horizontal dimple has been acknowledged as also correct for at least '71s and/or '72s?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim- They were a factory RPO option (A85) from 67-70 and have the vertical dimple. All NOS belts I have ever seen for sale (in a box) were from 71-72 and have the horizontal dimple. I suspect that is because they were a dealer installed part in 71-72 and no longer an RPO option.
