Florida Vendors?
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but being on the Gulf Coast side of Florida, is there any semi-local vendors of parts here? I've searched the ol interweb, but most vendors are in Cali or way up north somewhere.. It'd be nice to go to a store and pick up some parts that may be in stock (bumpers, body parts, emblems, etc..) Trying to avoid the shipping cost if there's someone in the Tampa area or close by.. Thanks

Re: Florida Vendors?
None at all in central / south Florida, usually swap meets or guys on this board for parts. Wish Ole' Ed from Mother Truckers in Bradenton was still around. He was the last known truck parts store in the area. There is a couple parts shops in south Georgia that sell aftermarket stuff.

Re: Florida Vendors?
Yea, this area is all about the Lambo's and Ferrari's... There seem to be very few people interested in the older cars. I'd love to open a truck parts shop, but don't think there would be much interest in the Florida area. I guess I'll look around for the best deals..

Re: Florida Vendors?
you being in Florida, surprised you don't know about NPD right up the road from you in Ocala right off 75. I'm florida( lived in Tampa for a number of yrs) and I can attest to the fact there just aren't many classic vehicles there to get parts off. Those that are there are always badly rusted. And people selling parts, more often than not, are wanting high prices for them.

Re: Florida Vendors?
Just be cautious buying aftermarket parts, some are made well and a lot are junk. Especially sheet metal, do your research before buying.

Try Dennis Chevy Truck Parts in Pinellas Park. He has old and new parts, only takes cash. Nice guy. Butch

Re: Florida Vendors?
There are parts out there at the sumter swap meet. but I use to go every month and it pretty much was always the same vendors selling the same stuff. At least that's what I noticed from going every month. Still its the biggest if not the only swap meet that has a good following. You do have Zephyrhills(now Lakeland) autofest , Daytona turkey rod run and a few other smaller shows. but smaller swap meets in general are going to be hit or miss. Now looking at Dennis Chevy Truck Parts in Pinellas Park, that's definitely an option. I will try to swing by next time I'm in the area. Actually had no idea he was even there so close to me. Then again I have only been involved with the air conditioning side of these trucks and I typically only buy from swap meets, salvage yards, and guys parting out trucks. but after checking out his website, I can kinda see where a lot of these parts trucks in florida are at. There are a few guys like him out there that buy up all the parts vehicles they can find. There is a guy named Chad, who does the same thing with Pontiac parts

Re: Florida Vendors?
Thanks for the reply's... NPD is the supplier that I was thinking of, just couldn't come up with the name... They're 2.5 hours from me...not to bad I guess. I've known about some of the swap meets, just have never been there yet. Thanks for the help.

Re: Florida Vendors?
I have used NPD before since they are about 15 min from me. They recently started to carry C10 parts. They do keep a pretty good stock on hand and will work with you if they need to order anything. If u decide to go there, call them first to make sure they have it and can place there hand on it. They have been really good to work with and I recommend them. They have some cool classics sitting in the showroom and pretty nice staff.
