Picked up another...64 C20
I can't help myself sometimes. It really is a sickness I think. Saw this the other day driving home from work, and like a fool I stopped to look at it. Went to fetch it today, drove it home about 20 miles at a whopping top speed of 50mph. I swear it has 5:13 gears.
Small block of yet undetermined displacement: And what really closed the deal for me: |

Nice find, Congrats. My 66 C20 had 4.57 gears when I bought it. My max speed was about 50mph.

Re: Picked up another...64 C20
Congrats on a good find.
My '66 C20 has 4.57 gears and I used to drive it 55-60 all the time, but the engine was turning pretty good. The 327's don't mind the rpm's so much.

Re: Picked up another...64 C20
So I took a few days off to get some stuff done "around the house" while we are having a warm spell. My first order of business was to get my 1/2 ton tagged and insured since it is finally somewhat road worthy. And of course pick up my youngest from school:
On to my 3/4 ton. I could not stand looking at that blue/rust colored bed when I have a perfectly matching 503 light green bed on my trailer. This actually worked better than I thought it would which is unusual for most of my ideas. Saturday my oldest son was home so we popped the bed off the c20: Then into the shop it went to receive its new one: Much better: Now if I could just find a 503 green drivers door... I then reassembled the trailer using the leftovers: Both enjoying the sunshine: |

Re: Picked up another...64 C20
Hi Matthew 21 - any chance you could post a photo of the rear of your '66 C20 to show the rear light clusters? My C20 arrived yesterday with bodged ones and I'd like to restore them to original, or as near as possible - thanks from Deadlock
