whats up brothers....im wanting to bag my 82.. I don't want to lay frame or lose my original bed floor.. just a simple bag job where I lay crossmember and on my small notches...ive heard of folks using helper bags for this on the rear.. is this doable.. any help or advice will be much appreciated

Re: rear airbags..
As mentioned above the ridetech kits are very nice parts. I've helped install them on a couple of trucks & wouldn't hesitate going that route either if it worked in your application.
I decided designed my own kit that worked out with the set up I had. I got a set of link bars from Ekstensive, I put an adjustable heimed panhard bar in front of the rear end since I didnt have room behind due to the K5 gas tank, I used shocks in the factory locations & a bolt in Western Chassis notch that we actually had to make smaller because the rearend would hit the bed floor before it bottomed out in the notch. Laid out the top of my rearend is 1/4-1/2" from hitting the bed floor. We welded a plate inside the notch to make it smaller, then tapped & threaded the hole so that i could easily adjust the bump stop to prevent it from hitting & also to get the right rake. My front has the factory inner fenders in place as well. Last edited by JWall; 03-08-2016 at 08:45 AM. |

Re: rear airbags..
Pull all but the main leaf and add a helper bag setup. Tada, cheap mans rear bags.
