Oak St. Customz Build
well i decided to do a build thread a little late. i found out about this message board in 2009 and i got my truck in 2007 and here it is:
I got my 1965 C-20 for $100 bucks and i have no pictures of it when i brought it home but there was a wire fire from the P.O.s son who installed a amp gauge incorrectly and the front drivers side brake drum was in the cab, so i had my work cut out for me. Here is a closest pic i can come up with to the first few weeks i had my truck: this was after i fogged it black and got it running, stopping and putting around with a 2.5 gallon gas can behind the seat. The first day i got it running i filled the stock tank behind the seat with 10 galons of gas. I came back two days later to a soaked shag carpet cab and no gas in the tank. i took that out the same day and put a saddle tank from a rolled over 67 c-20 i parted out as a few parts made it onto the 65 like the wheels. Here is one going to my first local car show in it after i cut the springs and put a 1/4 steel plate in my bed all welded in after my dad and I fell through the rotting wood

Re: Oak St. Customz Build
well last weekend my boss made a deal with me (I work at a body shop) that if I got the old shop truck a 69 Chevy c-10 shortwide running that we put a 327 in he would paint my truck.......What a deal!!! Its emerald jade green with a silver house of color flake......Not doing too much bodywork because its my daily and my shop truck so there are a few dings in it still.......

Re: Oak St. Customz Build
So now i have 350 i built to put in place of the 292 for now because its had a tap since I owned it. I plan on hopping up the 292 to keep it 6! It has 1 3/4 straight pipe now and i love the way it rapps out!!! I also plan on putting in a 5 speed T-5 in place of the TH-400 and i already have the 4speed column installed and the hanging pedals. I am waiting on a truck either a 73-86 c-10 5 lug swap or i might to the same year c-20 and keep it 8 lug because i like the steel wheels i have and want to keep it old school. i do plan on bagging it and should be getting my C notch kit in the next few days! So much to do but i cant quit driving it!!!

Re: Oak St. Customz Build
So for a Christmas present for myself i traded a 67 K20 4speed with no motor and kinda beat for a 77 c10 stepside so i can do a 5 lug and disc brake swap! i am excited my project is slowly moving along as i still drive it daily!!

Re: Oak St. Customz Build
Hey I'm still around! I've been really busy at work and I moved! Sadly I can't wrench too much on my truck where I have it stored but it's also storing my shop equipment for me at the moment. I did manage to use her to move my crap as well as my 72 K20, 67 C20, and my Suburban. Oh, and I finally did the headlight relay upgrade with sealed beam silver stars!!! What a difference!!!

Re: Oak St. Customz Build
I also installed headlight visors and got a 55 Chevy car emblem cheap at the Sacramento swap meet!
I also got a DSLR a while ago and the 65 has been an object of interest! She's just so photogenic!!

Re: Oak St. Customz Build
Ha! Sorry about that! I know how the whole abbreviation thing goes! Almost every day I have to look up a new one! I have a lot of parts saved up but waiting to find a house with a place to work on my heaps! It keeps me sane in this crazy world!! here are some more pics, I changed up the interior. This is an old pic. I have the door panels on and placed in some white insulator on the floor. I'd grab a new pic but my cab is full of parts waiting to be put on like my monster C notch
