Help! Need to find part ASAP
My husband is restoring a 1986 Chevy C-10. The man we bought her from had a jackwagon son in law that snatched the V-8 out and put a really bad V-6 in. My hubs is putting a V-8 back in but the Frame mounts won't line up, so he's trying to find engine frame mounts for a small block 350/V-8. We have found all kinds for cars but not for the C-10 pick up. Anyone know a good place to start our search? Need these ASAP as we have a scheduled trip planned and we need this truck right so we can make that trip!

Re: Help! Need to find part ASAP
These are two parts. The clamshell and the rubber. Depends on what is bad. Clam shells at a junk yard and the rubber check with classic parts of America. Take a couple days but pretty quick compared to others. You just drill the clam shell apart and then it bolts back together when you install it

Re: Help! Need to find part ASAP
if its a 231 v6 IIRC you just move the motor mounts over to different holes they should all be the same mount unless its a motor that didn't come stock in these trucks

Re: Help! Need to find part ASAP
It's a motor swap from a straight 6 to a 5.7 liter 350. He is looking for the frame mounts not motor mounts. He has the clamshell, he has the motor mounts, he needs the frame mounts.

Re: Help! Need to find part ASAP
I had the same issue when I bought my 80 C10.
I got mine from the local junkyard. I got lucky and found some laying around so I didn't have to pull a motor to get them. 73-98 sbc motor to frame mounts will work for sure. I got mine from a 97 suburban.

Re: Help! Need to find part ASAP
My notes say 85-86 C10 small block "frame brackets" are GM #6271361 for driver side, and #6721362 for the passenger side. Those might be what you already have. They are the brackets that mount to the frame. The rubber motor mounts (or "cushions") bolt to these brackets. The clam shells then mount to the cushions.
I don't have the 85-86 clam shell P/Ns, but I can tell you from experience there are at least 4 different P/Ns for 79-84 trucks. All look very similar, but have have different "block surface to motor mount hole" dimensions. FYI, below are GM descriptions of the above parts. Frame brackets: "BRACKET, ENGINE MT FRAME" Clam shells: "BRACKET, ENGINE MT" I eventually found the P/Ns I needed for my 82 C10 at GMPartsWiki.com, but it takes a lot of patience!
