Shame we could have had a chat! I was in a rush.. still had to drive all the way to Basildon. Think I've done about 350 miles today

Re: shaking all over the place?
Well.. looks like more good news?
just got email from the axle builder: seems you have had a bit of a result with this new axle of yours... the differential in it is actually an early clutch-type limited slip diff which I believe was made by Eaton for GM, the part no. is ED 30060 if you want to look it up. It 'feels' like an open diff when turning by hand, and only grips when one wheel tries to turn without the other under load. The only slight drawback is that because it is an LSD the side gears are not compatible with your 30 spline side gears, so you have to use the 17 spline shafts that came with the new axle. Having said that, they are still a good strong shaft and your mild 350 motor won't cause you any issues with them . So... views on this LSD he found? is it something special?

Re: shaking all over the place?
I'd say I was far too kind and far to cheap! Coffee and bacon roll on you at the swap meet

Re: shaking all over the place?
as your builder say's nothing wrong with the 17sp axles. use the lsd, as your old carrier and spider gears are toast anyway.
