Re: Front Coil Spring help please
Ill measure my 2.5" drop tomorrow when I'm out there. I would think if you have drop spindles they would be 2.5" though

Re: Front Coil Spring help please
d chevy trucks have the chevy lean in about 99% of them the only way to solve it is by havin a frame shop work on it and that is at best a temporary fix for the lean

Re: Front Coil Spring help please
Ok so I measured the springs I took out and free height is 12-1/4 inches and the wire diameter is .81". According to the Moog web site .81" wire is used for heavy duty springs. Because these springs were cut, I can't really know how long they were originally. Also I did confirm I have 2-1/2" drop spindles. If I were to buy stock heavy duty springs (Moog 6102) they are 12.56" free height so I don't think anyone would cut a 1/4 inch off a spring so who knows what these springs were for? Anyway I bought and installed Moog 6082 regular stock springs because the free height is 13.18 inches. By the way both the 6102 and 6082 springs have a 10 inch installed height.
Soooo my reasoning is that if I removed heavy duty springs that after use have a 12-1/4 inch free height I think installing a lighter spring with a lower load rating that's 13.18 inches when new, it SHOULD over time (how much time) compress down to about the same height??? I won't know if my left to right evenness will be corrected until I get the wheels back on it and drop it on the ground. Anybody have any thoughts? |
