Anyone know this shock mount?
Just at the Classy Chassis show in Sumner, Wa this weekend and saw these front upper shock mounts on a 68 C10. Talking to the owner, he said that they were stock which only tells me that he did not do the work.
Does anyone recognize this mount or where to get it? Thanks gang. Included a few pics of the truck as well. |

Re: Anyone know this shock mount?
That is not a stock mount I have seen on any truck of this vintage. Looks like a relocation bracket for the shock that prolly came in the lowering kit.

Re: Anyone know this shock mount?
That is not stock, it is a fabricated piece (looks good too). I do not know of any company that sells one that looks like that. Here are the ones CPP sells installed on my truck. This type CPP sells was used on factory 4x4's to my knowledge. That stud is prone to breaking loose, and reinforcing it solves the problem.

Re: Anyone know this shock mount?
I thought it looked like a good relocation bracket as well. Too bad the owner didn't know anything about it. Looks like it fixes the bind in the angle of the shock and raises the mount point about an inch.

Re: Anyone know this shock mount?
Saw the truck at a show this weekend and caught up woth Mark who thought it might have been fabricated. Took a few more pics, looks like a Firestone shock, does this come with the Firestone bag kit?

Re: Anyone know this shock mount?
@ Leddzepp--I'm new on the site and was wondering where you got the shock support bracket--I'm new so not sure what CPP is, We are restoring some old trucks for my boys and I was planning on welding a support bracket on the front but I like the looks of the bolt on bracket. Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie

Re: Anyone know this shock mount?
Sorry I wasn't clear on my earlier post --I'm looking for the bolt on shock support bracket on the front, I've found then in lowering kits but not alone, was planning on welding one on from LeftHander chasiss, but seen the pic of the bolt on one in leddzepps picture and thought if cheap enough, it would be better than welding a permanent one on.

Re: Anyone know this shock mount?
CPP P/N 6372FSRB for the front shock support bracket. It puts the shock into double shire to keep from cracking the single stud top mount.
