not sure what your asking, you must have divorced your original thread
those threads are not bad, just run a die over them and your good to go these are bad threads, but both of these can be fixed with a die ![]() ![]() ![]()

Just bought some new nuts. Is it 1/2-20 thread size? I think it's a fine thread and not a course ylthread?

Got it fixed, thanks. It was 1/2-20. Ran a die over it and it worked perfectly. Whew....crises averted!

the spline is the important part, not much force required to hold the steering wheel down
