upper rad hose Ls swap

I'm putting an ls with a corvette waterpump in a 67 C10 along with a Champion Radiator that has the upper rad hose on the Drivers side. The water pump being from a corvette has the hose coming out the front. A corvette upper rad hose almost fits, except it is too small to fit the rad.

Has anyone found an upper rad hose that will fit this combination?

No one has figured out a hose for this, or is everyone using the truck waterpumps?

I usually end up finding a straight spot in the hose, cut, add a piece of pipe, and find another radiator hose that I can cut to make the side for the radiator work.

It's a pain, but I also drill and tap a hole in that piece of pipe for the steam vent tube.

I used the old LS hose and made it fit. This is when the upper outlet was on the driver side and also when I later switched to the outlet on the passenger side by recutting the same hose.

I will get you the number for the hose I used later today. I bought it at the local autozone. I just had to cut the end and then flare it a bit to fit over the radiator inlet. I am using and f body pump and a champion rad. I will also post a pic of it.

Soak it in hot hot water for 5 min, this will make all the difference. It will fit.

I was going to suggest the same thing DBK81 said. Even the one I bought needed cut and expanded. Hot water will get it flexible and it will slip right on.

Re: upper rad hose Ls swap

I'm going to swap over to a Ron Davis radiator due to this (I don't want a really long radiator hose that would result from transporting the coolant all the way to the other side) and the steam vent stuff. But I'd be curious to see a pic of anyone who's done it (well, of the rad, not the person).

Here are pics of my upper hose. 71425 at autozone. Also note that my engine is moved back as far as the slider mounts would allow.

Re: upper rad hose Ls swap

Not sure if it'd clear my planned accessory drive, but that's not too bad!
