Scottsdale door trim

I just bought an '85 GMC that needs the dash trim piece and door panel trim replaced. I was trying to find a set of the plain black door panel trim pieces for a Scottsdale. I want to do away with my pull straps and like the looks of the black more than the stainless, but all I can find is the stainless pieces. Does anyone offer these?

Re: Scottsdale door trim

I think the stainless is applied over the black substrate with an adhesive. You should be able to remove the applique and use the remaining black part.

That is for sure how it was done on the gage cluster bezel, and *I think* how it was done on the dash applique.

Re: Scottsdale door trim

All of the pieces I've seen where the stainless pieces were gone, the black underneath was slick and glossy.

Re: Scottsdale door trim

Thanks guys. I have the dark red/maroon door panels and after seeing the photo with the black trim, I'm not digging it. I guess now I'll start looking for all the stainless trim for the doors, dash, and gauges.
