I just bought a sway bar off of a 79 c30. I bought the cpp brackets for lowered trucks. Im trying to locate the cpp brackets using txfirefighters method,but i think his thread is for a 67-72 truck. Im not sure what to go by?

Here i am holding the cpp bracket up to the frame. This is where it needs to be if i put the sway bar ends flush with the backside of the bushings on the control arms.

Great Upgrade!

I started kind of back to front. I attached the ends to the A arms first and the then swung it up to the frame. After attaching the frame bushings, it was easy to mark the locations to drill the holes. I would play with it alot before drilling any holes.

It looks like 3" on the dot

How far did you let the swaybar stick out of the bushings on the a arms?

Same here. I left about .5"-1" of the bar past the bushing. Can't remember exactly.

It's been a few years but I remember about 1/2" to 1".

I do recall that the first time I tried I put jack stands under the frame and the wheels hung free. I could not get the sway bar any where close.

The second attempt, I drove up on a set of rams and it nearly bolted itself on.
