1971 chevy wiper motor question

In my brilliance when I removed the wiper motor I never marked how the connectors go in. Looks like they are not keyed and could plug in two ways. Any help before I screw up something?

Re: 1971 chevy wiper motor question

Here is a pic of a typical wiper motor with the terminals labeled:

The corresponding wire colors should be:

(1) High = light blue.
(2) Power = yellow.
(3) Low = black.

There will also be a short yellow wire connected to one of the "washer" terminals that runs over to either (4) Power (if present) or joins up with the yellow wire going to (2) Power. A dark blue wire goes to the remaining "washer" terminal.

The factory connectors are somewhat keyed to keep them from being installed wrong. For example, the yellow & light blue wires that connect to (1) High & (2) Power should be in a 2-wire plastic plug that has little notches to clear the little tangs on the motor terminals. And the (3) Low black wire should have it's own individual 1-wire plug. Finally, the washer has a 2-wire plug (yellow & dk. blue) with the terminals spaced a little farther apart than the other 2-wire plug that goes to the motor.
