shifter pointer replacement

I need to replace the pointer on my 72 tilt column. Can someone give some info on how to do this, and where I can get just the pointer?
Thanks

Re: shifter pointer replacement

Super easy - just pull the two screws holding the indicator (P, R, N, D, so on) housing onto the column and remove. Tilt your wheel all the way down. Slide the new pointer in (assuming you have all the old pieces out), tilt the wheel back up, and re-install the indicator. Make sure the pointer corresponds with the actual gear you're in, adjust at the linkage to the transmission if necessary.

You can get the pointers at GMCPauls.

Make sure the pointer is clipped into the back of the indicator so it stays up where it is supposed to be.
