Re: options for gas pedal and throttle cable

Firewall mounted Lokar gas pedal and matching cable. I also added a matching brake pedal. I did weld in a flat spacer to mount it to, I used a chunk of a old bed rail to make it from.

Re: options for gas pedal and throttle cable

What year is you truck? and did you need to do any modifications to get that break peddle to work? I could not find a break peddle for my 62 on the Lokar sight.

Re: options for gas pedal and throttle cable

First, I was concerned with an aluminum pedal so I went with the chrome plated steel version, I sure hope it lasts more than a few years. As to the brake pedal I cut off the factory curved pedal and welded a small piece of flat stock in its place to give me somewhere to bolt the new pedal to.

Re: options for gas pedal and throttle cable

I wish I could remember exactly what all I used in my conversion - but if I remember correctly I used the throttle cable from a 73 C-10, the throttle mount assembly came from a 75 Pontiac and the plastic gas pedal came from a 72 Nova. I had to do a lot of heating & bending to get the pedal bracket the way I wanted. I couldn't find a 72 C-10 gas pedal assembly at the time. I also even got a little more carried away I cut the brake pedal pad mount off the 73 C-10 and welded it to my 64 brake pedal arm.
