Re: 1966 custom camper & alaskan camper survivor
Hey Sodly,
Funny you should ask, I have it scheduled for next week. I have a friend who is experienced in taking these campers off. I have been waiting for him to have some free time to help me out. Saturday, the 9th of April will be the day that we pull the camper off. I'm really excited to see what everything looks like underneath. In the meantime, most likely this weekend, I will be removing the inner wheel tub drawers, the mounting bolts, water, electrical, and gas lines that are attached to the bed and chassis, so that removal of the camper goes smoothly on the 9th. I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures throughout the process. Any tips or advice before I move forward? I know the bed will be dusty and I have thought of giving it a good wash down with a hose, or blow it the best I can with air, but I'm not sure which of the two is most aggressive. |

Re: 1966 custom camper & alaskan camper survivor
Probably no harm in doing a full wash down with dish soap, warm water, and a soft brush. Blow it out before and after with a yard blower. I did my low miler original paint deck this way without issue. Super high, focused pressure in either air or water could lift otherwise solid paint.
