door logo led projector

Awhile ago I saw a Lincoln with something like this from the factory, I wanted it for my 67 C10 long stepper. I found them on ebay 15 for two, 25 for 4. I bought the set of 4, two for my 67, two for my 08 Colorado.

Re: door logo led projector

I didn't feel like drilling and tapping my a pillar, so I removed a door bumper and installed a door jamb switch in the hole. the remainder of the install was fairly simple, so i'll skip the specifics and say to use a 3/4" drill bit to drill a hole in the bottom of the door, and a smaller bit, (I used 1/4") to drill holes in the door and cab to run your wires.

NICE!!! Wonder what it would look like if you had one projected on the inside of the hood when you opened it up....

I thought about that, I also thought about projecting it on the floor boards, but the pedals got in the way on the drivers side.

I imagine you had to purchase the door jam switch yourself. I did not see it in the kit on ebay. I like the idea of this. Adds a modern touch to the truck.

Thumbs up Re: door logo led projector

I'm going to tie them into the switch already in the truck.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: door logo led projector

I almost bought some of these but was worried they would look blurry on the ground. Your pics look really nice.

Yeah. There just the switches that come on trucks from like 68 to 79 (the ones that have a single female bullet connector, not a double male blade), but dont quote me on the exact years. I just went to napa and asked for switches from a 76 and then bought a 3/8-24 fine thread nut to tighten the switch in place. Switches like $5 each but you should be able to get them online cheaper.

Re: door logo led projector

I'm interested in doing these, but I keep reading the logos go blurry and disappear in about a month.

I bought a set last night. Going to try them out at different places and see how they look before mounting them.
