just picked up this 97

Just got this 97GMC yesterday as a father/son project. We only have minor updates slated for the near future since the truck was all ready a really nice start.

Re: just picked up this 97

thank you, its a stunning truck in person. looks even better then in the pics, and thats rare cause most trucks look alot better in pics. Were going to keep the Hot Rod theme going with it, I wasnt a fan of the green rally wheels at first, but quickly fell in love with them.

Re: just picked up this 97

rite now, were just gonna lower the rear another inch. it has bout a 2 inch rake and we like it to be 1 in. upgrade the sound system, new sunvisors, wilwood brakes, and build a nice 350 motor for it, detailing it in chrome and polished accesories. Going to have some old school hand painted pinstripes done, but not sure what colors

Re: just picked up this 97

I can promise if you saw it in person you would change your mind on that. But you would have to like the classic Hot Rods to appreciate the wheels.

Re: just picked up this 97

Looks like a nice find for sure. I like your plans for it as well, but maybe I'm a bit biased. I've been down the same road before: a hot rod look with green steelies & freehand pinstriping. It's a love/hate thing, but I got a lot of positive attention with mine.

If you are going to keep the green wheels, make the stripes match the wheels.

If you aren't sure how that will look, try it with tape first.

Here's an album of pics you can dig through. There are some close-ups of the pinstriping as well. My truck wasn't black, but maybe it'll give you some ideas.

& a couple pics of an old F*%d I saw a couple years ago. I like the colors he used as well:

Cool truck! I like the wheels, I'd have to change the color of them though to make it mine. What engine does it currently have?

I've seen that truck before. Whether it was on here or in person but I remember it. Very clean!

Nothing wrong with bright colored wheels. Easy soap and water cleanup too. No polishing needed.

There is a lot of positive to painted wheels. Truck looks good and I like your future plans too.
