66 c10 2wd front and rear end swap ?'s
Good morning guys and gals.
I am in need of some of the knowledge here. I have a 66 c10 long bed with a 292. I found a 83 frame short bed with 1 ton running gear. I want to keep the long bed. Can I swap out the front and rear to my current frame? |

Yes, as long as you want a 1 ton suspension, that front suspension will bolt in under your '66 frame just the same as a C10 front suspension will. You will have to drill one hole each side and elongate one hole each side. For the differential, you will need to cut off the leaf spring pads and shock mounts and weld on trailing arm mounts and a panhard bar mount. I make the trailing arm mounts but not a panhard bar mount yet. May as well upgrade to power steering while you're at it along with the entire steering linkage.

Just picked up the doner. This thing is a beast 4 wheel disc brakes all shocks and springs are good. Warn front locks. Fuel tank and the guy threw in a old 4 speed tranny with matching transfer case. I might be able to make a 4x4 with some work.

Rear disc brakes in that year are not original. Make sure of what you have and that the rear conversion isn't a hack job.
