3 point seat belt help.

I'm new to this site and hope I am putting this in the correct area. I need a little advise on 3 point seat belts. My 16 yr old son and I have just started a 72 SWB fleet side project. With the idea of keeping him a little more safe in case of an accident while he's cruising around we have decided we should install 3 point seat belts. I have seen different suppliers of seat belts but we were wondering which brands/suppliers you have used and your opinions. I don't care the cost just want a good quality product. Thanks for your help!

Check with Matt at MCB Parts here on the board, he has them.

If you just send him a private message with color, bench or bucket seats, and I think the year, he'll get you a quote.

Re: 3 point seat belt help.

Picked mine up from Welder Joe's on eBay, $100 shipped. They've kept me in my seat.

Re: 3 point seat belt help.

I installed a full set of color-matched LMC units. You can buy the little "GM Mark of Excellence" stickers separately if you're detail oriented but you won't find them on repros for liability reasons.

They self-retract, basically fit the stock locations, and work well. Much safer I imagine. Available in the LMC catalog or on their website.

They might actually be intended for bench seats, I'm not sure.

Re: 3 point seat belt help.

I bought mine for my 1971 C10 from Juliano's. www.julianos.com I have been very satisfied with them.

Re: 3 point seat belt help.

Are the release buttons metal or plastic on these. If so any one better than the other?

I can't answer your question at this time. My pickup is at my son's in another town being worked on and I will have to check that out (after tax season and after I get back from my post-season feeshin' trip).

Re: 3 point seat belt help.

Thanks for all your responses. This is my seat that I just had rebuilt. I'm trying to find a color that matches the light blue. It's hard to match a color while looking at color samples from the laptop. Has anyone had any luck trying to do so?

Re: 3 point seat belt help.

Heads up, there are a few blue colors, but none match the original medium blue interiors at all, in fact they stick out badly. I have swatches from two major webbing suppliers. Best to go with black like davepl pictured.
