Re: Did this truck ever get finished?

I was racking my brain to try to figure out how the hell there weren't any weld lines all the way up for the door, or bedside or something... then it hit me... duh... it's a suburban side with the wheel well moved back, but then... suburbans had those ugly taillights and this has truck/blazer tail lights... arrgh!

There has to be some kind of spray paint color blend somewhere... because I just can't figure out what panels those are with the weld lines that are shown! Or is that really long enough to just be a long bed bed side??? Just doesn't seem like it would be that long... but maybe it is.

Re: Did this truck ever get finished?

honestly, it looks to be a regular long fleetside with the wheel well moved back and that's it.

I'd love to see it in person and find out how he attached the bedsides and front fenders to the cowl and main body. Do the front fenders use original mounts and the rears just weld to back of fronts?

It'd be nice to put that up on a hoist and look underneath.

Re: Did this truck ever get finished?

It's made from one long bed C/10 pickup. I think frame was shortened and the sides are bedsides with wheel opening moved. All the cuts and welds, along with the continuous taper all show it as such. I figure those are complete bedsides with the length of frame established by the length of the bedsides

Re: Did this truck ever get finished?

You guys are probably right... I guess with the wheel well moved it makes the long bed bedsides look longer than they really are.

Re: Did this truck ever get finished?

It's something to study, that's for sure. In that first picture, if you took that filler out, the length looks about right. If you add that in the back, it looks about right. I kept looking back and forth real fast for about 10 minutes, that's how I'm so sure

I found this on Instagram. I don't know if there's a way to pull a pic from IG so I took a screen shot.

Jason good find. It looks like it did get finished. While it is good to see it smoothed up and in colors but now I can't say i like it better now than in the first pics. Something about that roughed in look.
There have to be more finished pics out there.

I agree, I've always thought the early/unfinished version looked the best.

Not much in to the really slammed trucks but these 67-72 look real good, then comes along this highly modified one, this is so cool.
