Behold! Weep at the beauty of my 4L80E linkage

I say that because I didn't make it... the guy installing my transmission did (and he's been on this thing all week, not looking forward to the bill).

The black plate is new; the dark grey bracket is unchanged, though it might be run upside down; the light silver bracket has been modified with the area that holds the rod being extended.

The rod comes within about 1/4" of the cab in park, but moves out as you go through the gears.

It winds up being almost perfectly aligned with the 4-speed OD gear indicator too, which is nice.

Lots of changes considering the 4L80E is descended from the TH400 (which was even renamed the 3L80):

- Driveshaft shortened
- New shift linkage
- TCU box under dash, bracket fabbed, programmed
- SCU box under dash, bracket fabbed, dip switches all set
- TPS box under floor, calibrated to carb
- crossmember relocated backwards to new location
- Parking brake cable relocated

Lots of labor, and as we all know, I'm cheap. But it's quality work, likely better than I could have done myself, and I never mind paying for stuff that's done better than I would do it.

My guess from the looks of the linkage is your keeping it column shifted? How would something like a Lokar shifter coming up through the hump area have worked? That is how I have been envisioning doing mine when I get to that part of the build. Nice work by the way. Keep it up.

A shift cable would have been WAY easier, so you're all set.

I sent him the link to the a rod just like the Lokar unit, but wanted to stay stock appearing if possible, left him with the choice.
