Got a new truck :) *Pics*

Yes, yall heard right. The person who has had 9 wreks sicne he was 16 has a brand new truck LOL. I was totally shocked when my grand parents told me they wanted to buy me it. This has to be the greatest week of my life. Its a 04' Chevy Silverado LS. Power everything, 3.73 Gears, Small v8 w/ 285hp-295Tq. (I think). Its bright Red, Dark Gray Interior, came with a free bed liner too! This is the perfect truck for me lol. Nice and big, so now I dont look all with like I did wit the old truck all cramped and chit. Got it friday night at about 5. It had 12 miles when i left the dealership. Now has 129 I think. Wat gets me the most is....GAS MILIAGE!!....Gettin 17 in town and 21 on hwy. Been 129 miles and I still got 3/4 of a tank left! So nice, the old truck didnt kno wat Gase Miliage was. So within the nest 2 weeks it will have a new sound system from the old truck. And I am going to chop the mufflers of the old truck and start doing my exhuast on the new one. I think we're goin to try a new brand on mufflers on the blue truck. So yea, I feel very very lucky to have such awesowm grandparents!! Heres a few pics I took yesterday of the truckl enjoy yall!

YOU SUCK! Ok, not really, I'm just very envious. My Grandparents never bought me nothing. That is so cool. You better be mowing lawns, and washing cars at their house for a long time...

Yeah! it sound's like he's all ready disowned her

Nice truck tho when i first saw the pic's i thought it was orange must be the lighting making it look that color.

As far as the bed liner being free it seams to me the whole truck was free

Oh yeah dont park it on the side of the road.

not a bad lookin ride at all. if i were you, i'd ditch the "free" bedliner. its more hassle than its worth. sure it'll take some of the abuse that the truck bed would normally take, but what happens when moisture gets trapped under it? it rusts the bed out from the inside. you never know until its too late.

nice truck .The exhaust pipe size on the new silverados is 2"3/4 pipe o.d. it is also stainless steel . a real odd size. I would recomend modifing it with stainless . I cant see replacing better quality stuff with less quality mild steel. I been wanting to improve the exhaust of mine. I have a 2 silverado extended-cab silverado 1500 lt 5.3 3.73 gears 2wd drive. I love mine. they get great gas mileage for such a big truck.

Dam cornfed63.....thats looks hott. Do they make lowering kits for 04 Silverados? A friend of mine did springs and shackles on his and said it RUNINED is ride quality. So I dunno. This is also my daily driver....I am going to focous ALOT on the 78' and get it rdy for the strip.

Yea thats sounds like an odd size. I agree with u about replacing the piping with stainless. I will have ot end up doing the exhaust myslef I think. Know one will make a "true" dual system for me. So, I am going to buy some pipe. take it to the shop...have them put it up on the lift. take a few meeasurments and ahve them pr bend the pipe and i can weld it on myslef. Hm.....its guna sound mean as hell with 2 40's flows under there..dump of course Any word on header prices? Tryed lookin..didnt find anything.

I will be on top of the bed liner thing. I think it looks better anyways. I wash each car every sunday so I can stay on top of the "rust issuse"" pretty good. The side molding...I kinda like. And I very well cant take it off now. If I go see my grandparents and they notice it off....they'l think...oh..he didnt like the truck like that. I wanna make them happy before anytihng else But cornfeds pic was Nice! All I need is the exhaust system, headers, and sound system. And then i will start finishin the 78'

BTW....I look at my exhaust manifolds....theres tons and tons of space there. Installing thos headers will be so easy. I take full-lengh please

Also...anyone kno quater mile times on the truck? I kno it weights 6000 LBS and i said the specs above. Tryed to find someone who has there times but no luck yet.

Nice truck....you have some kick a$$ grandparents, lol

I would worry about voiding the warranty if you carve up the exhaust yourself, better find out about that before you go through with it.

Nice Truck.

I think we all wish we had grandparent's as generous as yours.

I would pull the trim off now, before the grandparents become accustomed to it (and before the paint fades around it). They won't notice it if you do it now.

If you lowered it with spindles in front, the ride shouldn't change.

I would use that truck as my daily driver and put my money into my play toys. But thats just me, I could use a good gas- mileage daily driver that looks good while doing it.
