Steering wheel question.

My 71 has the parchment interior, what color/style wheel should I have? someone told me no matter what color the interior is the steering wheel was black. Is this true?

Steering wheels were painted the color of the interior in most cases. Not sure of the Parchment interior steering wheel color, though.

This site may help.

For a tilt column ths is true. Parchment columns are a light tan color similar to coffee with a lot of cream in it. The wheel was the same off-white/bone color as well. You may have a hard time finding a good used wheel in this color. This color and the blue colored wheels suffered from "crack-itis" to a greater extent than the darker colored wheels for some reason.

Does anyone reproduce a wheel in this color? The truck currently has a ripoff version of the GT grant, and I cant stand small steering wheels. I think I may run the same wheel thats in my chevelle, the grand nostalgia series which looks like a factory GM wheel.
