Who has shaved drip rails

I started shaving my drip rail tonight and I am looking for pictures of what people have done with the a-pillar area. It has a body line where it meets the roof. I am thinking...

1-fill it so there is a smooth transition between the pillar and the roof, this may look better as the A-pillars are the only spot where this body line exists around the roof perimeter

2-leave it and try and transition it back into the door

Re: Who has shaved drip rails

Can you move it back w/ a body hammer, so it's under the roof more, making it smooth? I wouldn't fill it. I think you'll just create a bulge of filler above it... It does need something tho.... Just don't look "right".
I wanna shave my drips someday.... Haven't started yet, and that's the first I've noticed this.

Dean Jendro....did you use tubular motor mounts with that big block? Gorgeous truck. I really like the cowl work and the firewall.

Re: Who has shaved drip rails

i am shaved them on a 64 and i just welded the body line up and smotthed and will use filler to make it look as the one refered to in the link . be very carfull to only cut and weld at like 2 inch intervals . maybe go front to back as well skiping a few as you go along . also when ya cut the rail off leve 1/4 of the lip sticking out and maybe bend it over and there should be more area to weld too as when i did mine went flush with roof line and it got thin in a few spots . and be prepaiered to adjust the gaps on the doors . wich will in turn have to adjust gaps on the fnders . big can of worms . hope that makes cents . if not let me know and i try and clear it up

Me either and I'm a paying member - must not have the Grand Poo-Bah handshake down yet.

Re: Who has shaved drip rails

I really like the way 67cheby did the roof on Boosted Bertha. Have a look at post #872.
