Need help, 69 c/50
A co worker has a 69 c/50 that has what he says is a 327 and hydraulic brakes. He said it's got a booster on the firewall and one back under the bed. The booster under the bed is shot and he needs to move it around and was hoping maybe I could find out a way to make he brakes work for him to drive it some. He said the booster in the rear doesn't seem to be available any more. Anyone know how to bypass this system and make it road worthy at an affordable price?

I don't have an answer for ya, but maybe a bump to the top will get some attention.

Re: Need help, 69 c/50
Re plum the brake system, scrap all the lower booster and split the system using a new master and booster in the engine compartment. Do it once and do it right. It really is simple if you stand by and look at it. Master to a T to the front brakes, Master to the rear axle and a T to each rear drum. I used a 90's 3500 silverado Master and Booster. A little drilling was required on the firewall but simple really. No simple fix for the front drum brakes without changing the spindles to P30 food van/motorhome spindles. But that will give you disk in front. The rear is easier because most 90's TopKick rearends can be made to fit. If you rebuild the drums they can be made to work well. I did it once but never again. I would rather do disk anyday.
To drive it home, I would just use the front brakes, take the line out of the T that is mounted on the front frame that heads to the rear and put a plug in it. You can get plugs at your auto parts store.
