Tire size advice....

Lowering my 86 square 5/7 with belltech. I have 7in rally's up front and 8in rally's out back. I'm not sure what size tires to run that will look good, not rub, and not prevent the low stance I want. Does anyone have advice or pictures of theirs that will give me a better idea?

I have 255/70 out back and 235/70 on the fr.

Thanks! Some guys I know have said 225/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear but I wondered how that would look or if it would require trimming to prevent rubbing.

My truck, C10 86 is lowered 5/8or9 has the 6.5 rallys on the front and 8's on the back, tire size is 215/70 front and 275/60 out back. Hope this helps in making your decision. I have absolutely no rubbing issues. I wanted the stock look without any hassles. I have thought about the 7in. rally but for now I will stick with what I have.

Also, did you have to use shock extensions? I will probably go ahead and order them just in case but still curious. Good looking 87!!

Thanks for the compliments. The 87's wheels were 15x7 fronts and 15x8 out back. Yeah it had shock extensions and a flip kit on the rear when I got it. I replaced the 3" drop springs in the front with spindles and a full coil cut off a pair of light duty springs.

Here's one of my current 86 (bought to replace the 87)
It's got drop spindles up front with full length stock coils. Shackles and hangers in the rear with the light duty leaf pack. 235/70 on 15x7 and 285/70 on 15x8

For our crappy oklahoma roads I like the height of the 86 but the stance on the 87 looked mean

Very nice! Have a 75 Stepside and love the look of your truck. Is 8inch really enough for a 285? Any wheel spacers?

Looking through tire size options for my 86 and stumbled across this thread again. The 285/70s on mine now are actually on wider than 8" wheels but not sure if 9s or 10s. I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of 235/70s and 275/60s on 7 and 8 inch factory rally's. After seeing this pic of my 87 I had I think it's the right choice for me

My Jimmy has that exact combo. 7" from and 8" rear.
