Reverse Light Help!
Ok so I've searched all over the net and the forum and I can only find partial answer to my problem. Heres the scoop.
67 C20 originally had a 4 spd manual now has a 700r4 from PO. New steering column with NSS w/ hook ups for back up lamps. The problem is there isn't a harness in the cab for the back up lamps and I couldn't find anything near the tranny. It appears that the light and dark green with a couple of other wires just go from the fuse block through the firewall down the frame straight to the tail lights. everything looks factory and unaltered. I need help in figuring out how to hook the circuit to the switch. |

Re: Reverse Light Help!
Correct me if I'm wrong ,but the reverse lights are triggered by the prnd( neutral safety switch) switch on the steering column.Your 4spd switch was in the transmission, The steering column is not set up for a auto trans switch. I hope someone can help on this I only can see a dilema! It is completely fixable though!Alright guys!! Can he just replace the selector switch with an automatic one?????

Re: Reverse Light Help!
Thanks for replying,
Sorry maybe my wording was confusing. the truck came with an auto column and a switch installed, however my problem is since it originally had a 4spd transmission there isn't a harness for the new switch. I need help in figuring out how to tie the new switch into the back up light circuit. |

Re: Reverse Light Help!
The 67 Factory Chassis service manual schematics in section 12, pg 12-41 and 12-42 should help clear up how the power runs to the manual trans' reverse lamp switch and the optional automatic's combination switch to power the reverse lamps. RTFM

Re: Reverse Light Help!
Stigmatic? That's the best Freudian slip I've seen in a long time, or the worst typo :-)
