I agree much of the aftermarket steel is not great.

Some of it could be the way I put the kick panel, floor, and the lower A pillar.
If the A pillar is not in the same spot i will throw off how that rocker sits. Acually all the stuff i cut out and replaced could effect it. 1/6th" here an 1/8th" here adds up.

The door and fender lines up fine so who knows, and that rocker is from LMC and no one around here seems to think they have the best stuff. I didn't know any better when i bought it.

Started on the lower B pillar. I am planning to build the whole lower part as one and then weld it in, then put the fender section on. Looking around here I THINK that the bottom of that B pillar is all one piece all the way down to the bottom. Thats what I going to make.

This is only the start of the fabrication, its not anything final just tacked.

Is it necessary for me to cut in the big hole in back of the thing? It seems like a small drain hole near the bottom would be fine.

Well, I ordered my first one from LMC and then I purchased one from Tim at Christian Classics, which alot of people on here praises his products and the two rockers are exactly the same. Both have the Key Parts decal on them and both fit exactly the same so I dont think its LMC. Im just going to splice the two rockers together to make them fit better.

spent some time on it this weekend. The camera battery died so I don't have any from today. I got the torsion box, outer rocker and door fit up today and it all works out and lines up.

So now just keep punching along and get it welded up. probably not BUT that's the plan, 50 other things will get in my way before i can really weld it up of course..

Back at again. Im glad I have this thread to remember what was going on.

funny.. When i started this I had a pretty expensive digital camera to take pics with.. now we have these crazy cell phones...

that kid in the pics with me has moved out and gone to college now !!! and my oldest girl is now 10 so shes out with me learning cuss words and how to turn wrenches, burn metal.. you name it she loves it.

I am starting where i stopped.

I have a question.

As I get back into this I have no memory of these parts below LOL

At the start of this in 07 I had though I bought all the patch panels i needed and had the money for then

Do the three threaded holes on the lower B pillar patch match up to the holes down the center of the rocker box reinforcement plate?
I am confused at the pics because it looks like both have threads or maybe its a nut on the one pic?
Mine didnt have one at all or was so far gone I never noticed it. Those are from GMC Pauls and are not cheap.

Yes, the two pieces are supposed to bolt together. The pictures you posted are accurate representations of how it is supposed to be.

Nice to see you back at it. Yes - those two pieces pull together the B pillar area ( and also rust out on almost every Midwest blazer). I had to cut mine out since they were rusted into one piece and would not separate.

Get us some updated pix so we can follow along again.
