Shift Indicator Question
I can't seem to find a proper shift indicator and was hoping that yall could help me out. Recently upgraded from a manual trans to an automatic 700r4. I have a stock column (non-tilt) and haven't been able to find anyone that offers a NON-tilt shift indicator--I am talking about the label that goes on the top of the column.
Of course, the normal indicator is for 3-speed auto P-R-D-2-1, not one with overdrive like the 700r4. Ideas? I ordered a part from LMC labeld for tilt columns and it did not fit at all. I have to believe that SOMEONE has this same setup and has a solution.

Re: Shift Indicator Question
I thought I saw some on Classic Parts site. If I find it again, I'll post a link.

Re: Shift Indicator Question
Sort of looks that way doesn't it? I noticed this issue when I did my swap. Luckily I have a tilt column and bought the indicator, but I thought it was very odd that the indicator wasn't listed for a standard column too.
If made for one, why not make it for both?? It was a cheap part to buy ($6 or something like that) |

Re: Shift Indicator Question
I know this thread is super old, but I've been searching high and low for an overdrive indicator for a non-tilt column. Someone on this forum has to have found a purchase part or a solution to this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The picture below shows the OD indicator installed, but I've since removed it and put the original back in. |
