exhaust
What's the best exhaust system that I could put on a 72 s/b Cheyenne tying into full length headers with a gm crate 350/330 hp motor. The truck came with a tired 350 and glasspacks but now it's way too loud. I've already spent a fortune on the truck so I might as well go first class to finish it off right and make it sound sweet.. Any suggestions welcome, And thanks! p.s. -- also having trouble wiring factory tach into new hei distributor that came with the crate motor. When we put + to a hot wire and the other terminal to the distributor it wont run. Any clues?

thats a hard question because every body likes a different muffler, some like loud and others like a mellow tone. personally i like glasspacks on manuals and flowmasters on autos but i love it loud lol -kyle

thats a hard question because every body likes a different muffler, some like loud and others like a mellow tone. personally i like glasspacks on manuals and flowmasters on autos but i love it loud lol -kyle

On your tach, you are plugging the wire to the tach terminal on the HEI, right?

i hope you ran a new wire for your ignition to the hei, the original wiring to the distributor is a resistance wire and doesn't provide a full 12volts

Hey Gordo --- thanks for the exhaust article. Now I know to use 2 1/2 pipe and a crossover. Any really good pre made systems stainless and mandrel bends that you know of?
