rear spring mount?
Has anyone seen the rear spring/axle perch/mount available anywhere I need one for a 72 K5 Blazer. I borrowed a picture from dieselwrencher's thread to demonstrate. It is cast from what I can tell. I also need the U bolt's.

Re: rear spring mount?
The piece on the bottom of the axle is a u bolt plate,They are different by axle type so you need them off the same axle you have. But the good news junkyard or you can buy them new. What rear axle do you have?

Re: rear spring mount?
Hey Mike! After we got off the phone at work I went back behind the parts counter and found the right book. We did locate a part number for the 1/2 ton u-bolt plates. I didn't bring it home with me but Gene did write it down. Bad news, besides being discontinued web searches based on the part number came back empty handed.
I was able to find a similar version in the later book for 73-79, but it was only listed for the one ton 14bolt axle. With the new design in 73 they reversed the u-bolt from what you pictured except for the 1 tons. Problem is I believe the 14bolt axle tube diameter is larger than your 12 bolt axle. Give Gene a call Monday and he'll give you the number we found. Maybe you'll have better luck than we did.

Re: rear spring mount?
Thanks Rob I'll get with Gene and see what I can do from my end . I been reading some of your threads today that old chevy truck on the showroom floor saved my tail in a hailstorm years ago. A friend and I were out riding dirt bikes and the old guy that owned it picked us up and let us ride out the storm. Always liked that truck.

You are right on the 2wd GMC's of the same era probably using the same bracket. That would allow you to widen the net to look, but you'll need to check dimensions on the tube diameters. GMC's used Dana 44 and Dana 60 rear axles as opposed to the corporate 10 and 12 bolts. Then again Andrew's link looks like the real deal and worth hitting up. Nice find!
