Re: 1967 swb/stepside daily driver

There will be an ending one day hopefully . The goal is to have it done for next spring. The truck sat this summer with not much progress. Had to save up and gather more parts. This has gone way over budget . Started working on it again last month.

Got a set of speaker brackets from forum member bigblock73 and covered them with speaker box carpet and put in a set of rockford fostgate 6x9's that i had setting around.

Changed over to auto from 3 on the tree so got an auto column from a member. Rebuilt it with new bearings, turnsignal switch and levers. Got the steering wheel from another member. Fixed the cracks in the wheel with epoxy putty. Everything painted and installed.

Re: 1967 swb/stepside daily driver

Wanted to get a leather seats from a newer truck but that is not in the budget right now. Had a stock bench seat that was in bad shape. Did not want to put alot of money in it so i just threw a cheap cover on it. Did not come out to bad considering how bad the foam was. the carpet and sills are in.

Your truck is looking sweet!

Does Bigblock73 make and sell the speaker brackets? Thanks!

Re: 1967 swb/stepside daily driver

..You make it look easy..I can disassemble them but that's about it..I leave it up to people like you to put'em back right Anyway i have a question.. Do you happen to have pics of putting the cab back on? How you lifted it etc.
or taken it off?

Re: 1967 swb/stepside daily driver

Thanks. It may look like it is easy for me but its not. This is the second frame off restoration i have started and the first one (25 years ago) a 67 Chevelle is still in pieces. Never could of done it without this website and my friend Jared for the helping me with the paint. All the information you will need is on here and if you cant find it you just have to ask. There are alot of people here that know everything about these trucks willing to help.
I did not get any pics taking off the cab. Have one when it just came off you can see the 2x6's. I just jacked up each side a little at a time and kept adding blocks under it till i could roll out the frame.

Re: 1967 swb/stepside daily driver

Almost have the front end painted now. The hood still needs painted but the bodywork is done and it is ready to paint. When I was test fitting the front end the shims fell out of the bottom of the fender. Did not notice they fell out and opened the door and put a big chip in the door.

Re: 1967 swb/stepside daily driver

Left off the passenger fender until the door is repainted. The wiring under the hood is almost done.
