Power steering questions.

Hello all again! Update on where I'm at, after a long battle with both of the drivers side ball joints, the drivers side spindle, rotor and caliper are done. (Using a friends garage, only limited amounts of time to work.)

Next up is the passenger side, and then bending and running all new brake lines from the new MC. My question is, i took the steering box and power steering pump off of a late 70s c20. It'sworked fine besides the TERRIBLE turning radius. I can gather that the pittman arm is enduring too short. Anybody kbow which arm i should use?? Thanks guys!!

Re: Power steering questions.

There is nothing wrong with the pitman arm. You simply need a wheel alignment and have them center the steering so that you have the same turning radius left and right.. Or you can try your hand at it yourself. The distance from center to center of the drivers side tie rods needs to be shortened and the passenger side lengthened.

Re: Power steering questions.

Hi CAPTAIN FAB:I normally do questions on 67-72 chevy trucks, but friend of mine has a 66 C's but is 4 wheel drive. I told him CPP sells a power stering kit conversion but we found that only works on two wheel drives.

Any info you can give.

thank you

Re: Power steering questions.

I have sold many of my power steering box adapter plates to customers that have used them to install power steering on the '60-'68 K series frames. Here is one being installed on a '64. Scroll down the page a little.
