Moving the Gas Tank from behind the seat?
Here's a couple of questions for anyone who has put the gas tank between the frame rails. Is there a tank that would fit between the frame rails and would be able to accept fuel from behind the Licence plate like on a lot of the older cars? The second is has anyone found a spacesaver spare tire that fits the original 6 lugs on these old trucks? Im asking the question about the spare because I want to put the spare behind the seat where the tanks used to fit and I know a full size tire wouldn't fit. Thanks for any help you could give with this.

Try this for the tank. Not sure on your spare tire idea though.

Re: Moving the Gas Tank from behind the seat?
Had a brain storm in my sleep last night about the spare tire. I am going to get one of those 6lug to 5 lug adapters for the spare tire. I know that will work for the spare!!! Got it handled. Thanks for the help

Re: Moving the Gas Tank from behind the seat?
Im thinking I am going to build a box that will look just like the Rear Corner Stake Pocket in my Sons 64 Short Fleet and put the filler kneck in it with a push to release top on it. I dont want to put the filler cap in the Oak right in the middle of the bed so im thinking that is going to be the work around on the filler kneck. Has anyone done that and have some pictures?

Re: Moving the Gas Tank from behind the seat?
Did you ever get a spare for behind the seat?
How'd it fit?
